October 6, 2002

Meeting called to Order: 7:11 PM

Present: Lady Liuete, Lady Ariana, Alvar, Muirrenn, Kol, Torin, Lady Seraphina, Sherief

**Lady Seraphina was absent, so Lady Liuete conducted the meeting**

Officer’s Reports:

Seneschal:Lady Liuete - There will be a mandatory funding meeting for all clubs coming up soon. Alvar is already planning on going from Shinai club, so should he represent us, or should someone else go? However, he would need to be a principle member, of which we can have up to 8.
-there was discussion, and it was decided to make Alvar a principle member, along with Lady Liuete, Lady Seraphina, and Muirrenn. He will go to the meeting to represent SCA and Shinai.
-Also, there is another mandatory info. meeting all clubs must attend. At least half of the principle members must be there. There are a bunch of different times for this meeting, so people should go whenever they can (a list was passed around).
-We have now been classified as a social club, rather than a rec. club, thus our advisor is now Lauren, rather than Scott. This means we're in the same group with all the Greek societies.
-there was discussion about re-classifying ourselves to a cultural club, and it was decided that we would remain where we are for the time being.
-we are not getting a booth at club info day, because it is the Friday of GWW, and no one will be there. Shinai club will have to get their own table.
-OPEN HOUSE - it is the same day as Leif Eriksen, so lots of people should be on campus anyway. We have to be on stage at 9:25 AM, so EVERY ONE MUST GET THERE BY 9:00! We have now committed to it, so if you have committed, you better show up.
-There was discussion and it was decided that we would do lights, heavies, and dancing, with Muirrenn and Kol to do lights, Kean and Sherief to do Heavies, Seraphina, Ariana, and whoever else to do dancing, Trevor to do the announcing, and to talk about archery. She needs to talk to the lady in charge, and find out if they will play our music, or if we need to.

Arts and Sciences: Lady Seraphina - She talked to Lord Thomas about doing an illumination/scroll design workshop, possibly sometime between the end of November through the end of January. There is definitely some interest, and he could either do it on a Sunday or a Monday.
Workshops:
Silk Banner : She is still trying to work out the details of the silk banner workshop, however, she has been unable to reach Eridana. She has reserved 2 possible dates, and will update us later when she has more info.
Tunic: Lady Ariana - She already has 8 people registered, so the workshop is full. Nobody has stated an opinion about the date, so that will be determined later. People who attend need to bring fabric, thread, and a tunic or T-shirt that fits them. People will need to finish the tunic at the workshop, as she is not willing to spend the next 3 months helping people finish up, and/or do fancy things with theirs.

Web Chronicler Kol - the website is thorough and up-to-date, he has the OP from 16 September, and the list of who has received the service medallion will be up soon.

Hereld: Lord Kean - He is currently at the Heraldry meeting, but he is alive and well, and herladish. Seraphina's re-submission, and Alvar's first submission have both passed kingdom. Alvar's middle name is Harold.

Chatelaine: Muirrenn - the stuff Lynn borrowed is in Amy's car. Irene got a lot of new Loaner garb at the sale at Crown. We have a few new people that seem interested. I'm in the process of washing the loaner garb cause it is stinky.

Exchequer: Lady Ariana - She spent $28.00 on loaner garb at crown. We have around $2,413.00 before the cost of re-imbursing Torin for the rope, the new loaner garb, and various other expenses.

Constable: Sherief - He helped at Collegium, and will do so again at GWW.

New Business:

Lord Torin - they went up to Chino and laid out merchants' row; it wasn't TOO smelly, but the cows are still there. They requested space 56 for Artemas, however, we will get space 60, which is still close, and 5 8 is as of yet still unassigned, so we may be able to spread out. We don't have a whole lot of space. There are maps available of the site at Archery practice, and with Lord John at the Film and Video Reserves. There will definitely be flies
-He also has an extra sewing machine if the College wants to fix it up and get it working, perhaps it could be a loaner machine.
-There has been some talk about cancelling September war. If they do so, we will be short a lot of our money. Anyone who has an opinion on this should go to next council meeting and voice it. At GWW we don't make much money, and if we loose the site for Labor Day weekend, we won't get it back. GO TO COUNCIL!

Lady Ariana - Perhaps a trip to the national city swap meet might be in order before the tunic workshop so people can get fabric. The barony is planning on going, maybe we could go with them.

Alvar - the codes for the Ché will be changing, if you need/want a code, make sure you get one.

Lady Liuete - she is thinking of doing a skirts/pants workshop when she steps up as the A&S officer, which will probably be next quarter. GO TO COUNCIL!!!
